The party has decided against all good advice to attempt the Knife Wind pass. Day One's ascent went without incident, but now the ground has become more perilous. The narrow stony path is flanked by precipitous drops, and something is definitely stalking a meal of horse flesh... something that knows to keep the sun behind it. This is not a good place for a battle, and certainly not a battle with something that can lift a person off the ground and send them plunging over the edge.
Syrinscape's Roc battle SoundSet brings you every uncertainly footed sample, precarious drumline, and hairy harmony, and, if the player characters survive the encounter, goats... happy goats, who know there's one less hungry mouth hunting them!
From the Monster Manual:
At first sight, a roc’s silhouette looks much like any other bird of prey. As it descends, however, its unearthly size becomes terrifyingly clear. In flight, a roc’s wingspan spreads two hundred feet or more. At rest, perched upon the mountain peaks that are its home, this monstrous bird rivals the oldest dragons in size.
