In the aftermath, they learn that the goblins are being controlled by a group of Illithids, worshippers of the Far Realm, a horrific plane of existence that drives those who visit insane. The Illithids are searching for pieces of an ancient obelisk that can help harness the power of this dark dimension... but for what ends?
