In this chapter the player characters return to Phandalin, to discover a new group of goblins has been terrorizing the town, kidnapping citizens and destroying local landmarks. The players track the invaders to an abandoned duergar mining post. There they face goblin chieftain, Ruxithid the Chosen, who possesses frightening psionic abilities. In the aftermath, they learn that the goblins are being controlled by a group of Illithids, worshippers of the Far Realm, a horrific plane of existence that drives those who visit insane. The Illithids are searching for pieces of an ancient obelisk that can help harness the power of this dark dimension... but for what ends?
With every creature sound brought to life by talented voice actors from around the world, including a host of actual DUNGEONS & DRAGONS RPG creators, the characters and monsters of this adventure will come to life in the imagination of your players.
