The sawmill is alive with the sounds of workers: the ear-piercing scream of circular saw blades tearing through rough-hewn logs, the clatter of cogs and the hiss of steam releasing from the overworked engines. Shouts of men can be heard over the clamour, as they work hard to be heard over the sounds of the heavy machinery. Occasionally the whistle of the overseer calls out over the noise, signalling a break or the end of a long shift.
But just beyond the yard and the muddy fields of felled trees, stands the old woods, deep, dark and ancient. There just beyond the reach of the Sawmills lights… shadows move. These woods are older than man, and once man has passed, they will remain…
